Welcome and thanks for visiting my site!  Below are some frequently asked questions which may be helpful to you, but don't hesitate to give me a call for more information at any time.

Although I have some select sizes available to purchase here on my website, I create custom-sizes of every piece which can be special ordered by contacting me directly.  Additionally, if you would prefer to shop in person, my art studio is conveniently located off Alcoa Hwy (near Downtown Knoxville).  I have many original paintings and giclée prints available for sale here.  If you don't find what you are looking for in-stock, I will customize the artwork for you.  All of my artwork is created from raw materials from start to finish and custom framed if desired.  With a visit to my art studio, you will have the opportunity to see my creative process and I will show you samples which will assist you in selecting just the right artwork for your space.  I craft each piece using the highest quality archival materials so your artwork will last for many generations.  Contact me to schedule an Art Studio Visit today!

Q:  What is a giclée?

A:  A giclée (gee-clay) is a museum quality fine art reproduction.  This method of printing utilizes archival pigment inks and prints can be done on a variety of surface substrates, such as canvas, paper, photo paper, etc.  It is the highest quality and best method for fine art reproductions.

Q:  How much do your giclée prints cost?

A:  The giclée prints are priced according to size but for giclée canvases, pricing may be impacted by the number of prints left in the edition.  For the most part, I create  limited editions of 75 each on canvas.  To give you a general price range, a stretched canvas giclée runs between $350 - $1,800 depending on the size (over-sized or customization can affect the pricing).   Paper giclée prints are an open edition with prices starting at $ 30 on up (depending on size).  Example:  16"x 20" matted print costs $ 85.

Q:  If I am interested in purchasing an original painting, What is the process and what do you have available?

A:  I do a lot of commissioned work.  This means I will paint a custom painting to meet your specifications.  I can paint whatever subject matter you like, any size, on any substrate and with any type of paint (i.e. oils, acrylics, watercolor, etc.)  If you absolutely love one of the images you see on my "Artist's Portfolio" page but it happens to be sold, I can create another painting with a very similar feel, subject matter and color palette.  Although I cannot paint the same thing twice.  That said, I promise you will love what I will create just for you.

Also, I have quite a few original paintings in my studio and I have many more in progress.  So it's worth a call and/or a visit to see what's available.  Additionally, it's a good opportunity to view the art in person in the event you would like to commission something.  (Most people say the artwork is much better in person, than what is depicted online.)

Q:  How much do your original paintings cost?

A:  It depends on the size, the complexity of the subject matter, the process and what I'm painting on (wood, canvas, metal, etc.).  Once we discuss what you are looking for, I will be able to give you a suggestions for your custom artwork along with a price.

Q:  How long does it take for you to produce a special order?

A:  Matted, giclée paper prints:  5-7 days (But I may have what you're looking for in stock, so call to inquire!).  Stretched canvas giclée prints:  10-14 days.  Original Paintings 4-12 weeks.  (These timelines are close estimates, but may differ due to my workload.)  If you are in a rush, let me know and I will do my very best to accommodate.

Q:  Can you create a painting from my photograph?

A:  Absolutely!  I can paint your dog, your house, that beautiful scenery that you photographed or whatever you wish!

Q:  What types of payment do you accept?  What are the terms?

A:  I accept checks, cash and all major credit cards.  Special order giclées are paid in full upon placing the order.  Commissioned original painting terms are 50% deposit and 50% due upon my completion.  I even offer financing through SquareUp (just ask me for more details).

Q:  Do you deliver or ship?

A:  Yes, I can deliver canvas artwork at no charge in a 25 mile radius.  Beyond that area, there will be a reasonable fee for me to deliver.  If shipping is needed, I will provide you with shipping options and pricing.  Matted prints must be picked up at my studio or I can ship them.

Q:  Do you have gift certificates?

A:  Yes!  I can create a beautiful art card with a gift certificate for any amount.

Q:  Is there a warranty on your artwork?  Do you offer refunds or exchanges?

A:  Yes.  I guarantee the quality of all my artwork, for my lifetime.  If there is an issue with the craftsmanship, I will either repair it or replace it, for the same type item.  A guarantee does not apply, if the artwork has been mishandled.  (Please read artwork handling instructions below.)

I do not offer refunds.  I have occasionally exchanged an item in the past.  However, it is on a case-by-case basis and within 10 days of purchase (There are no exchanges for special orders or commissioned originals).  I really want you to be happy with your purchase and I will do whatever I can to be helpful and fair.

Q:  How do I properly care for my artwork?

A:  Easy.  Keep it out of direct sunlight and keep it in a clean, temperature controlled environment.  The best and safest place for your artwork is on your wall!  (Basements, attics and storage units are no place for art and the materials will break down in these environments.)

Q:  Do you work with Designers and do you do Corporate installations?

A:  Absolutely!  If you are a Designer, or are in need of a quote for a Corporate install, just call or email me and I will assist you with details and more information about available discounts.

Q:  What about Sales Tax?

A:  Sales tax is applicable if you are in the State of Tennessee.  The current rate is 9.25%.  If you are a re-seller or an eligible non-profit, you will need to complete a "Blanket Certificate of Resale" form and return it to me in order to avoid being charged sales tax.  Click HERE to download this form.

Q:  Do you show in any Art Galleries?

A:  Not in my hometown of Knoxville Tennessee, since I sell directly from my art studio.  However, I will continue to work with art galleries in other cities nationally.

Q:  Do you frame the artwork?  Can I choose the color of the matting on my paper giclée print?

A:  Yes I offer custom framing!  However, all of my canvas artwork is "gallery-wrapped", so it is fabricated to be 'ready-to-hang', so framing is totally optional. (Note: "Gallery-wrapped" means that I stretch the canvas around the wooden stretcher bars, so that no staples are showing on the side of the artwork.  Instead, it is stapled on the backside.  The depth of the canvas can vary (i.e. 7/8" vs. 1.5" or 3", etc.).  When I consult with you, you will have the option to have the sides of the canvas artwork colored to suit or to leave them white.

The matting on my paper giclée prints comes standard in Black.  However, if you would like another color, you can indicate that when placing your special order for prints.  The prints which I keep in stock are all matted in Black.

Q:  What is your process for creating your artwork?

A:  I create each work of art myself from raw materials.  The stretcher bars are all hand cut and sanded, and the canvas is then primed and stretched by hand.  I use the finest artist materials available to achieve superior quality and craftsmanship.  The same applies to my giclée prints;  I do my own printing, matting, assembly, canvas stretching and varnishing with UV protective clear-coats.  After creating a painting or a giclée, each piece is signed, numbered (when applicable) and cataloged for archival purposes and future authenticity.  All of my paintings are of my own original concepts and design and are copyright protected under US Federal law.

Q:  Do you participate in any local art fairs?

A:  Yes!  However art fairs, like seasons, change.  If you sign up for my mailing list by filling out this contact form, I'll let you know of upcoming art shows and gallery receptions.

In Final:  Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.  I will be happy to assist you at any time!
